A new era in wayfinding
We are pleased to announce the launch of Mijksenaar Arup Wayfinding, a joint venture between Bureau Mijksenaar USA and Arup in North America. As of December 2004, Bureau Mijksenaar USA, Inc. will offer its services in wayfinding consultation and signage design under this new name.
Collaboration between Arup — the world’s best-known global engineering practice — and Bureau Mijksenaar — leading experts in the field of wayfinding — has been prompted in part by the growing realization that wayfinding benefits from an early involvement in the process of planning and design.
The Mijksenaar Arup joint venture is a strategic common enterprise. With the cooperation between the two organizations, Arup can integrate signage into the architectural design during the preliminary stages of a project, and, at the same time, Mijksenaar’s wayfinding specialists can call on Arup’s expertise in planning, design and implementation; and can work with professionals specializing in lighting, traffic-flow analysis, escape routes, acoustics, electronic-information facilities, etcetera.
Teamwork between the two companies means a change of address for Bureau Mijksenaar USA: Mijksenaar Arup Wayfinding is located at the same Manhattan address as Arup's New York office.
